About Peak Ski Company

Founded in 2022 by ski legend Bode Miller and ski industry executive Andy Wirth, Peak Ski Company aims to design and build the world's best high-performance skis for recreational skiers.

  • Direct-to-Consumer Model: Peak launched the first large-scale, direct-to-consumer e-commerce ski company, revolutionizing how ski companies sell their products and cultivate customer relationships. Unlike traditional ski companies beholden to retail relationships, Peak is on a first-name basis with customers.
  • Award-Winning Skis: Peak's skis have earned top accolades from major outlets like Outside, Ski Magazine, Freeskier, Blister, Backcountry, and SkiTalk. Featured on the cover of Outside’s 2024 Winter Gear Guide, our skis stood out for their versatility, responsiveness, and
excellence across a variety of terrain and conditions.

More About Peak

Patented KeyHole Technology

The patented KeyHole Technology is an oval-shaped cutout in the top metal layer in the forebody of each ski, creating a proprietary flex pattern. This technology, discovered by Bode Miller during
his racing days, helps skiers initiate turns more easily and gives them enhanced control, stability, and confidence.

Benefits:

  • Easier turn initiation due to the forgiving shovel flex.
  • Balances the ski with accessible power and very high edge grip leading to more confidence in all
    conditions.
  • Inspired by Bode Miller’s World Cup skis, but suitable for all skill levels.

Peak Product FAQ

What makes Peak skis unique compared to other brands?

Peak Ski Company stands out in the industry not just for the exceptional quality of our skis but also for the ethos of innovation, performance, precision and grit, that drives everything we do. Our business model is also built on the belief that strong, lasting relationships with our customers and our connection with the skiing community are as important as the products we create.

What sets our skis apart is that they are designed and tested by Bode Miller, one of the most successful and decorated skiers in the world. Bode's deep understanding of skiing at the highest levels has directly influenced the design and performance of every pair of Peak skis. His insights, honed over years of racing and winning on the world's toughest courses, are embedded in the DNA of our skis.

A prime example of this is our patented KeyHole Technology. Discovered by Bode during his racing days, this innovation features an oval-shaped cutout in the top metal layer in the forebody of each ski. This design creates a unique flex pattern that significantly enhances the skier's experience. The KeyHole Technology allows for easier turn initiation, providing skiers with improved control, stability, and confidence on the slopes. This proprietary technology is just one of the ways that Peak skis deliver a performance advantage, making them truly unique in the market.

What are the different models of Peak skis available, and how do they differ?

Peak Ski Company offers a line of seven all-mountain skis ranging from 78mm to 110mm in waist width.

  • Peak 78 by Bode: Narrow freeride carving ski. Best for carving and skiing moguls.
  • Peak 88 by Bode: Carving and agility for off-trail and groomed runs.
  • Peak 98 by Bode: Versatile for groomed hardpack and off-trail.
  • Peak 104 by Bode: Suitable for the Rocky Mountain region and western resorts.
  • Peak 110 by Bode: Designed for deep powder.
  • Peak 98 by Dav: Lighter version of the Peak 98.
  • Peak 104 by Dav: Lighter version of the Peak 104.

What ski lengths are available for each model?

  • Peak 78 by Bode: 168, 176, 184
  • Peak 88 by Bode: 160, 168, 176, 184
  • Peak 98 by Bode: 160, 168, 178, 184, 190
  • Peak 104 by Bode: 160, 168, 178, 184, 190
  • Peak 110 by Bode: 168, 176, 184
  • Peak 98 by Dav: 160, 168, 178, 184

What binding options are recommended for Peak skis?

Finding the right bindings is essential for getting the most out of your Peak skis. We offer several binding options to choose from, depending on whether you'll be skiing inbounds at the resort or venturing into the backcountry.

All our recommended bindings are designed to complement the flex patterns and dimensions of our skis, ensuring an ideal fit and preserving the ski's intended characteristics. However, bindings from other brands matched to the proper brake width may also work well with Peak skis.

RESORT/INBOUND SKIING

For inbounds skiing, we recommend the following two binding options:

  1. Marker Griffon 13 Bindings - The Griffon 13 is a versatile freeride binding made for advanced to expert skiers.
  2. Look Pivot Bindings - The Look Pivot binding features a turntable heel design that allows for natural ski flex.

BACKCOUNTRY / TOURING

For backcountry riding, we recommend the innovative ATK Raider 11 Evo OR Freeraider 15 Evo bindings. Both options are a work of art with a futuristic design for outstanding performance.

For more information including binding widths, visit our Binding Recommendations page.

What materials are used in the construction of Peak skis?

The direct to consumer (DTC) sales model utilized by Peak Skis allows Peak to use the highest quality materials and more expensive constructions resulting in the best performing skis offered at a high value price.

All Peak Skis utilize wood cores such as poplar, ash, beech and paulownia combined with titanal, a high strength (and high cost) aerospace-grade aluminum alloy along with ABS sidewalls and high performance race-quality UHMWPE bases.

The patented keyhole design employed in the top titanal layer provides a proprietary flex profile that enhances turning ease and initiation from the front of the ski and concentrates the edge grip underfoot. This results in more stability, power and control and ultimately more confidence and a better day of skiing across all ability levels.

Where are Peak skis manufactured?

Peak skis are produced at two of the most reputable ski factories in the world, located in Czech Republic and in Ukraine. These factories build Peak skis to the exact design specifications of Bode Miller and the Peak engineering staff.

Are Peak skis designed for specific types of skiing (e.g., all-mountain, powder, touring)?

While Peak skis are designed to be the most versatile all-mountain freeride skis on the market there are certain characteristics, mostly waist width and weight, that will make each model better suited to your target conditions. For example, for carving on hardpack the Peak by Bode 78, 88 and 98 waist widths will work the best and for all mountain skiing the Peak by Bode 88, 98, 104 will be the most versatile. For deep powder the Peak 110 by Bode is the clear winner. For touring and sidecountry the Peak by Dav 98 and 104 are the best options due to their lighter weight and more playful nature.

At Peak Ski Company, our pricing strategy is designed to reflect the premium quality, cutting-edge technology, and superior performance of our skis, while also ensuring that our customers receive exceptional value.

Warranty, Returns & Customer Service FAQ

What is the warranty policy for Peak skis?

While unlikely, it’s possible that you will receive a pair of skis with a minor flaw. It’s also possible, while out enjoying your skis, something goes wrong with them that is unrelated to the ski conditions or environment. Should a circumstance arise where you discover a flaw after putting your skis on snow, and you are the original owner, we will happily replace them for up to three years from the date of purchase. Enjoying your skis is paramount; if enjoying your skis results in damage to the skis from any number of hazards that exist in the mountain environment, we trust that you’ll understand if we have a tough time replacing them due to conditions or circumstances outside of Peak’s realm of influence.

What should a customer do if they experience an issue with their skis?

If you encounter any issues with their Peak skis, we're here to help. The best course of action is to contact our customer support team directly via email.

  1. Send an email to info@peakskis.com
  2. Describe the issue you're experiencing in detail
  3. Include any relevant information such as your order number, ski model, and when you purchased the skis

One of our team members will review your email and respond promptly to address your concerns. We're committed to ensuring customer satisfaction and will work diligently to resolve any issues you may have.

Is there a trial period for Peak skis, and how does it work?*

At Peak, we have complete confidence in the performance of our skis. We don't believe that you can really get to know a ski in a day or two. The way we see it a true ski test includes putting it through its paces in all kinds of conditions and terrain, and that kind of testing takes time.

While most demos limit you to a handful of days, we encourage you to take 30 days. We're so committed to proper testing that we've made the off-season irrelevant. Any Peak Skis purchased between March 15 through December 1 have until December 31 to fully test. Mount the bindings, drill into the tops, and ski them relentlessly through powder, crud, groomers and everything in between.

And if after 30 days of hard skiing, you are not convinced these are the skis for you, we make returning them easy. Just hang onto the original ski box, submit a return request on our website, and we'll promptly arrange a free pickup.

*Please note that this policy does not apply to skis with custom-branding. Custom branded skis are non-refundable.

Is there anywhere to demo Peak skis?

  • Banff

What is the return or exchange policy for Peak skis?

We know that every skier is looking for a specific "feel" in a ski, and we support that. If you aren't happy with the ski you selected (maybe you bought the wrong length or model) you can return it for another model/length—or a full refund within 30 days of purchase. For any skis purchased after March 15th, you have until December 31st of that year to return them for another set of skis or a full refund. If you buy and receive your skis after December 31st, you have 30 days to ski them and decide.

Please note that our exchange/return policy does not apply to custom-branded skis. Skis that have been custom branded are non-refundable.

Marketing and Branding FAQ

How should we communicate Peak Ski Company's brand to customers?

At Peak, we do not have a run on sentence (and for the most part, meaningless) mission statement, like most companies. We have an ethos. This company was built on an ethos of Innovation, Precision, Performance and Grit. We are relentlessly driven by radical innovation with a goal of moving the industry forward and changing the way people experience skiing. We are not here to do what has been done before. We are here to create something better. To blend art and science as we explore fresh thinking, new ideas and “what ifs”, and then bring those ideas to life. It’s a process of: think, create, test, refine, repeat. Peak innovation is single-mindedly focused on better performance – what can we do to make skiing more enjoyable, give you more confidence, and allow you to ski more of the mountain. And once our ideas are proven, our quality control is second to none. We simply have no tolerance for imperfection. Our name on your product is our guarantee.

Every facet of our company has been built on grit – an unwavering drive, passion, vision and perseverance that separates us from everyone else. The same grit that built the American West, has created our company here in the heart of Montana. We have a love of the outdoors, the mountains, and our sport. And we are motivated by moving skiing forward, as we pay our respects to those who have gone before us.
