It’s a match made in heaven when paired with resort-to-AT hybrid bindings and freeride boots with walk/tour modes. Skiing is a big sport. Push yourself.

Warranty

While unlikely, it’s possible that you will receive a pair of skis with a minor flaw. It’s also possible, while out enjoying your skis, something goes wrong with them that is unrelated to the ski conditions or environment. Should a circumstance arise where you discover a flaw after putting your skis on snow, and you are the original owner, we will happily replace them for up to three years from the date of purchase. Enjoying your skis is paramount; if enjoying your skis results in damage to the skis from any number of hazards that exist in the mountain environment, we trust that you’ll understand if we have a tough time replacing them due to conditions or circumstances outside of Peak’s realm of influence.

Whats Under the Hood

The 98s were made to rip on packed snow at least 50 percent of the time, but you can still smear ‘em off trail, too—it's a shapeshifter. Here, a Paulownia-Poplar-Isocore gets sandwiched by two sheets of metal. But to detune the ski just enough for bowls and big lines, we didn’t run the bottom alloy wall-to-wall. A vertical cut in the upper metal makes for buttery turn initiation.

These are incredible skis. Like none other. The Keyhole Technology is a real differentiator.

The customer service is top of class. The CEO letter with them—who does that anymore? Nice touch.

What a great company built and run by great people.

An Off Piste Ski That Can Rip Groomers

I got these skis for tree skiing in Steamboat. I wanted something light and nimble I could throw around. What I didn’t expect is a light weight ski that is stiff and stable enough to rip groomers. I’ve hit 66 mph on these sticks and didn’t sweat it!

Where these skis really shine to me is tracked out, off-piste powder. Let’s face it, after the first 90 minutes of a powder day you are mixing in with someone else’s tracks and it only gets worse. These skis have the perfect blend of floatation in the soft stuff and stiff, edge hold when you hit bottom in a tracked out area.

The nimbleness of these skis are outstanding! These skis were perfect for a ski trip I took to Crested Butte. On steep double blacks when you need to do jump turns or need to quickly jump to avoid rocks, roots, or anything else popping through the snow, it’s easy and not fatiguing to do with these skis.

Along with the terrain and conditions mentioned above, I also find these skis to be great in the bumps due to their rocker and nimbleness plus spring, slushy conditions because they have nice floatation. If i could change one thing with the ski though I wish the tail was slightly softer. All around it’s a great one quiver ski!

It’s also worth noting that the skis are very durable. With all the days I’ve had on them they still look like they were barely used. Well done Bode!
