Warranty

While unlikely, it’s possible that you will receive a pair of skis with a minor flaw. It’s also possible, while out enjoying your skis, something goes wrong with them that is unrelated to the ski conditions or environment. Should a circumstance arise where you discover a flaw after putting your skis on snow, and you are the original owner, we will happily replace them for up to three years from the date of purchase. Enjoying your skis is paramount; if enjoying your skis results in damage to the skis from any number of hazards that exist in the mountain environment, we trust that you’ll understand if we have a tough time replacing them due to conditions or circumstances outside of Peak’s realm of influence.

Whats Under the Hood

If not for the KeyHole™—and our dedication to delivering a smooth flex in each length—the 78 might come off as burly. Two full sheets of metal sandwich a paulownia and ash core and the bottom alloy runs “over the keys” in ski engineer speak. What the hell does that mean? The ski’s edges offer more bite.

But don’t get scared off. Because the 78 is built around our concept of “accessible power,” it only skis as hard as you do.

Too incredible for words

I just received my 78s in a 184. I skied them April 20th, 2024 at Sugar Bowl CA. The high that day was 60 degrees. To be honest I've become a Peak Ski junkie. I own 104s, 88s and now the 78s. What with the heavy corn, and decidedly spring conditions, I wondered how the narrower ski would do. I need not have been concerned. In all conditions, morning to afternoon, off piste to on, moguls to groomers, the skis were incredible. They had enough heft to blow through piles of slush. Turning was seamless with a bit of forward pressure and a knee roll. Once into the turn, a more neutral stance and edge angle had the skis describing these beautiful round arcs. More edge, tighter arc. I also found that the 78s allowed for an incredible finish. Moving forward at the end of the turn allowed me to easily tighten up the turn and get the skis fully across the fall line leaving me set for crossing over the other set of edges and into the next turn... so smooth. Off piste was interesting in that the crusty conditions made it feel like the skis were locked in their tracks, that is until I drove my knees forward, activated the keyhole, and added a bit of edge; then the skis ... just turned. And bumps.... that same forward pressure that allowed me to finish my turns allowed me to choose an amazing line. Now to be honest, I've become a big fan of sidecut. When I read that "Sidecut is just a number", I was skeptical; I was also wrong. All of my Peak skis readily rail and the 78s are sooooo much fun. I'm a quiver guy and a ski geek. I own a lot of skis. I like mixing them up. I'm always searching for the perfect turn. When it comes to shaping a turn, the 78s are the most incredible skis I have ever been on. The 78s encourage an athletic stance and some pressure dynamics, and might not be as awesome for skiers who ski from the back seat and prefer a heal push. But, once you are on top of them, they inspire extreme confidence. I just ordered two more pair, for my wife and a friend. In my opinion, the 78s are a must have. They WILL make you a better skier, and leave you grinning ear to ear.
