In Montana we rake more pine needles than leaves—on account of fire season. It’s for that type of daily mountain town, kick-around work that the rugged West Butte jacket was built. (Also loading 34 pairs of demo skis into the truck so as not to trash the $700 Gore-Tex jacket.) The West Butte’s face fabric is 70-denier nylon, which to the hand feels like a supple canvas. The insulation is half recycled, which is 50 percent better than nothing. And the Peak logo is subtly placed on the coattail so you don’t look like a billboard.

If you have second thoughts about your impulsive schwag purchase, rest assured knowing that unused apparel and gear (with original tags and packaging) may be returned or exchanged within 30 days of purchase. Though goggles and sunglasses are final sale and are not subject to returns/exchanges.
Shipping on purchases over $50, in U.S., is free (for returns too). Elsewhere in the world, the customer pays shipping, duties and fees, but that’s all easily calculated at checkout.
