The Peak Ski Company and Leading Tracking Technology Innovator Pebblebee Announce Innovative PEAK Lôc8™ Tracking and Locating Device to be Integrated Within All of Peak’s Award Winning 2024/25 Skis

Integrated within each ski, PEAK Lôc8™ provides skiers an easy-to-use way track and locate skis in a variety of real-life challenging situations, from quickly finding skis in deep snow to travelling as well as serving as a theft deterrent.

BOZEMAN, MT (January 8, 2025) – The Peak Ski Company, the innovative new ski company cofounded by mountain resort industry executive Andy Wirth and alpine ski racing legend Bode Miller, and its development partner, Pebblebee, the leading skis will all feature PEAK Lôc8™. Nearly two years in the making, Peak’s world-class engineering team and Pebblebee engineers worked with ski manufacturing partners so to fully integrate the jointly developed PEAK Lôc8™ tracking device within Peak’s skis.

Pebblebee and the Peak Ski Company announced a multi-year, exclusive joint development program in 2023. Peak has produced a limited run of PEAK Lôc8™ inclusive skis which will debut at the global technology CES event today. Andy Wirth, Peak’s Cofounder and Chief Executive Officer, will be joined by Bode Miller and Pebblebee’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer at the CES event today and will be demonstrating this innovative integration of technology and discussing the value and impact of PEAK Lôc8™ for skiers.

“Interestingly, the incipient concept of PEAK Lôc8™ began four years ago as I was backcountry skiing in Beehive Basin, just south of our headquarters here in Bozeman, Montana.” said Andy Wirth, Cofounder & Chief Executive Officer of the Peak Ski Company. “I was experimenting with different locating devices on my skis and found there to be a host of limitations and challenges. However, when we met with Pebblebee, they had already developed devices which not only address some of those challenges but also included a host of other valuable features and benefits. Most importantly, their founder & CEO Daniel Daoura was passionate about skiing and had great interest in advancing this concept with Peak.” said Wirth.

PEAK Lôc8™ allows skiers to track and locate their skis in deep powder snow and whilst travelling as well as serving as a theft deterrent. Peak Loc8 will be integrated within Peak’s patented Keyhole Technology, underneath the top sheet of Peak’s skis and while the device has a very long battery life “out of the box”, importantly, the device is externally rechargeable.

Utilizing Bluetooth and NFC wireless data communication technology, PEAK Lôc8™ provides a sophisticated, advanced solution for tracking and locating skis, however, is only visible when activated. “Like the majority of skiers, my time in the mountains is an important break from the sometimes-overwhelming presence of technology, so we developed PEAK Lôc8™ to be non-invasive, if not invisible, until you need or want it activated.” said Mr. Wirth.
