Ski Length Guide

Only want to own one pair of skis? You should reconsider that. But if forced, reach for the Peak 98. It leaves trenches on hardpack and blows up powder.

If you ask us, the Peak 98 is the ski that 80 percent of skiers should be piloting 80 percent of the time. It’s that versatile. Looking at nothing but groomers today? You can cruise at family speeds or blast super-G turns. Off-trail in powder, crud, chalk, or corn, it’s nimble and floaty enough for all but the deepest of resort days. The 98 defines the all-mountain category.

Like the sounds of the Peak 98 but looking for something lighter weight and suited for inbound hikes? Pop on over to our Peak 98 by Dav skis. The slightly softer flex and weight savings make it a top pick for the backcountry crowd and women skiers too.

Skis purchased after March 15 enjoy free returns through December 31, 2024.  Peak's Extended Demo details here.

Warranty

While unlikely, it’s possible that you will receive a pair of skis with a minor flaw. It’s also possible, while out enjoying your skis, something goes wrong with them that is unrelated to the ski conditions or environment. Should a circumstance arise where you discover a flaw after putting your skis on snow, and you are the original owner, we will happily replace them for up to three years from the date of purchase. Enjoying your skis is paramount; if enjoying your skis results in damage to the skis from any number of hazards that exist in the mountain environment, we trust that you’ll understand if we have a tough time replacing them due to conditions or circumstances outside of Peak’s realm of influence.

Whats Under the Hood

The 98s were made to rip on packed snow at least 50 percent of the time, but you can still smear ‘em off trail, too—it's a shapeshifter. Here, a paulownia and ash core gets sandwiched by two sheets of metal. But to detune the ski just enough for bowls and big lines, we didn’t run the bottom alloy wall-to-wall. A vertical cut in the upper metal makes for buttery turn initiation.

Exactly what they said they would be: Excellent.

The marketing spin is not spin. They're the real deal. Fabulous across varied conditions. Very confidence inspiring. So happy.

Peak 98

Unfortunately I didn’t get my Peak 98’s until the ski season was over. I’m looking forward to getting on them next ski season. They look like a quality piece of equipment. They are in my living room where I can see them everyday which makes me excited about next season.

Best Daily Driver Skis!

Been skiing for 52 seasons now and always in search of that perfect daily driver for Mt Bachelor that has variable conditions on any given day. The Peak 98 is spot on - super versatile, great on trees, terrain rippin, and hardpack holding its edge. Love its overall responsiveness. Will be my go to in a range of conditions from icy, chunder, packed powder and up to 4” fresh!

Bringing mirth to the slopes.

Howdy all. I'm a 1m+/year vert skier in the FOG skier demographic (F@#$_& old guy). I gave my Peak 98s a vigorous real world performance test last year in the Wasatch & Sierras in all conditions. Edge hold in all snow temps & types, & freshness is unwaveringly solid for my 235 lb. Eframe. Turn initiation is quick, precise and fully trustworthy on the steeps and flats alike. On piste sends land solid and quickly neutralize setting up a turn platform you can count in.. At straight line speed their is no chatter and the ride is stable and solid. The ski's backbone gives you the confidence to let them run. Pow handling is as expected for this ski's width and their dive tendancy is minimal even with my 1 cm. forward binding position. I tune my skis often and the Peaks have survived the regular attention well & hold their 1° base/2° side angle edge reliably. They can be dressed quickly with minimal edge material removal. Bases are resilient and are easily filled and flattened. I both hot wax & rub apply wax regularly on the slope The skis accept and hold wax well and effectively. My only wish is that Peak offered longer skis. Not because these skis are lacking anything; but more for my psychological comfort and vanity. So, to wrap up these skis offer a revolutionary positive design. They are high quality, well made and tastefully appointed skis. I like them so much I bought a whole quiver and gifted many family members with these amazing skis.
